The Writing Inclusion Bank consists of prompts that are approved for inclusion in an online COE. For students using the online COE, only inclusion prompts will be available in the writing prompt bank.
Schools with approved exemptions that allow them to submit paper COEs will receive instructions on accessing the Inclusion Bank. Paper COEs are expected to follow the same submission rules as the online COE.
This section of the website will help students and teachers plan their collections. The expository prompt matrix and persuasive prompt matrix list the titles of all of the Inclusion Bank prompts and list the purpose and the audience of each of the prompts.
Only inclusion prompts are eligible for inclusion in a Collection of Evidence to be submitted for scoring. A CD of classroom practice prompts is available on request from OSPI. Email amanda.mount@k12.wa.us to request a copy.
