Work Sample Documentation Planning Forms are designed to assist students and teachers in selecting tasks for inclusion in their collections. These are only planning documents and will not be included in the final submission process. As students begin the process of selecting tasks which best meet their interests and ability levels, these Work Sample Documentation Forms help assure the tasks selected meet the sufficiency requirements of the Mathematics Collection of Evidence. There is a Work Sample Documentation Planning Form designed for each content area of the Math COE.
Task Matrix by Reporting Strand
All of the inclusion tasks are assured to be aligned to a number of Reporting Strands and will address at least two Performance Expectations in two different strands. The tasks and resulting work samples are built and developed around important mathematics skills. These are the same skills assessed on the state assessment through the End of Course (EOC) exam. Each matrix is divided into those Reporting Strands and Performance Expectations which receive scores on the COE and those which are for sufficiency purposes only. When viewed online, the documents are color coded which makes them easier for viewing.
